Director of Accounting
We are searching for a Director of Accounting to provide leadership and oversight of our team. We are a leading family practice providing a complete complement of care and treatment options for our patients throughout six states. This role will be responsible for a variety of financial, accounting, and administrative matters related to the operation of the company. This role requires supervision and participation in which the Director of Accounting must be able to oversee and execute the duties described below. This individual will be responsible for providing complete, accurate, and timely financial reporting on a monthly basis for both internal use and to comply with external reporting requirements. The individual will have access to highly sensitive and confidential information, as such, discretion is of the utmost importance. The Director of Accounting will report to the President.
- Oversee the accounting and finance functions of all organizational entities.
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
- Ensure timely completion of monthly account reconciliations, including bank accounts, investment accounts, capital accounts and other sub-ledger/general ledger reconciliations.
- Acts as a liaison between the needs of leadership and the accounting team.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of expense allocations, monthly accruals, and adjusting and reclassification journal entries.
- Oversee execution of month-end close process procedures in a timely manner to meet internal and external reporting requirements.
- Oversee compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings, including correspondence with outside CPA firm.
- Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for presentation to leadership for review and approval.
- Assure accuracy and completeness of financial statements and reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist with developing and overseeing preparation of dashboard and financial information for stakeholders, as requested.
- Manage Accounting Team on daily activities, trainings, and professional development.
- Responsible for all accounting operations.
- Prepare and submit cost reports as required for certified rural health clinics
- Assist leadership with the development of and tracking of the annual budget. This will include initially designing and building an organizational budget and designing procedures to track variances.
- At the direction of leadership, build pro-forma financials to help assist new clinic or service line growth.
- Additional duties as necessary
• Bachelors or Masters degree in Accounting
• CPA license required
• Public accounting and/or healthcare experience preferred
• Proficient in MS Office, especially MS Excel
• Preferred experienced in healthcare accounting software
• 7-10 years of experience with financial statement preparation, review, and analysis

This position is fully remote. The job does occasionally require traveling to attend meetings, as requested by leadership of the company. Individual must be able to work 8:00 am to 5:00 pm central standard time. Work cannot be performed from outside of the United States.
This job operates in an office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, etc.
