Job Summary:
The LC/MS Manager oversees the operations of the Department ensuring quality, compliance, and efficient sample testing.
Job Responsibilities:
- Implement policies and procedures as it relates to LC/MS department.
- Review, monitor, track and trend technical and employee performance.
- Coordinate training for new and existing staff members.
- Ensure communication of laboratory data and appropriate result reporting.
- Lead the handling and resolution of complex issues and customer complaints.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and system regulations to provide a safe operation.
- Ensure compliance with all corporate policy procedures in the laboratory.
- Establish and maintain all laboratory records in accordance with specifications.
- Ensure supplies are available as required for the lab.
- Developing new test methods, and improving existing methodologies on LC/MS.
- Recommend needs for new equipment or updates.
- Additional tasks may be assigned at any time by management
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Medical Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 - 10 years of experience, with LC/MS in a laboratory setting.
- Florida State Laboratory Supervisor License in Chemistry, more areas preferred.
- Experience in a leadership or supervisory role within a laboratory environment.
- Strong understanding of laboratory information management systems (LIMS).
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, regulated environment while maintaining accuracy and compliance.
- Strong understanding of LCMS (Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry) techniques and applications, specially Ab-Sciex, and Water Instruments.
- Knowledge of laboratory procedures, sample preparation, and quality control methods.
- Ability to review, monitor, and analyze laboratory performance data.
- Familiarity with federal, state, and industry-specific regulations (e.g., CLIA, CAP, FDA).
- Experience ensuring laboratory compliance with safety protocols and corporate policies.
- Experience in supervising and mentoring laboratory personnel.
- Ability to coordinate and implement training programs for both new and existing staff.
- Strong problem-solving skills to address complex technical and personnel issues.
- Experience in handling and resolving customer complaints and laboratory issues.
- Ability to identify areas for improvement and recommend new equipment or procedural updates.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate laboratory records.
