Access Services is hiring an Assistant Director of Adults Behavioral Health: Starting Point. Starting Point is a community based adult mental health supports program, using the Psychiatric Rehabilitation model. We serving adults across Montgomery County, with an office based out of Fort Washington, PA.

Starting Point offers support to adults 18 years and older, serving those with a mental health diagnosis, to reach their own goals. Sometimes people need extra help to get back on their feet, find a place to live, and become a part of community life. Our behavioral health supports team meet with individuals in their own spaces to help them begin their journey toward growth and fulfillment.

Position Summary: As an Assistant Director of Adults Behavioral Health, you will assist in the daily operations of the program, supporting excellent care for each person, while supervising and developing Behavioral Health Supports team members. An excellent Assistant Director can manage competing priorities, will support and coach staff by holding them accountable, will provide intentional training, and will have attention to detail. The Assistant Director of Behavioral Health will assist creating an excellent program for each adult served by contributing to the Starting Point program strategy and vision for growth.

Work Schedule

  • Monday - Friday, 8am-4pm; with on-call support as needed.

Essential Functions

  • Supervise lead team members, Behavioral Health staff, and Certified Peer Specialists on a weekly basis; will supervise interns when needed.
  • Help ensure that the Individualized Rehabilitation Pln (IRP) for each individual is appropriate and completed in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with other staff from the county and mental health systems in cross service team meetings.
  • Assist in the intake process for new referrals and assist in connecting new referrals with their Behavioral Health Supports staff.
  • Assist with case reviews and the staff training process.
  • Support lead staff in implementing orientation for new staff.
  • Coordinate the staffing, documentation of the program's on call, emergency response system.
  • Help ensure that Behavioral Health Staff are working toward the appropriate number of billable hours.
  • Help ensure that our services are in compliance with Access Services' established policies and procedures.
  • Carry a caseload, as necessary.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance, and work scheduled overtime, or be available for unplanned overtime as necessary, to meet program needs.

Requirements

Education:

  • Completed Bachelor's degree (required)
  • Two years' work experience in mental health direct services (required)

Certification

  • Successful completion of Certified Psychiatric Rehabilitation Practitioner (CPRP) certification within 12 months of hire (required).
  • Complete twelve-hour psychiatric rehabilitation orientation course (required).

Transportation

  • Valid driver's license with 2 years of driving experience, reliable vehicle, and car insurance (required)
  • Willingness to drive throughout Montgomery county as needed during the workday to meet with clients (required - mileage reimbursement provided)
  • Willingness to transport clients in your vehicle as needed (required)

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  • Knowledge of the philosophy, values and practices in psychiatric rehabilitation services.
  • Knowledge of the helping relationship, the recovery model, and basic concepts of therapeutic intervention.
  • Knowledge of person-centered planning and the ability to help individuals meet their plan objectives.
  • Knowledge of pertinent community resources and facilities.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with county and state officials, individuals, their families and the general public.
  • Ability to plan, supervise and direct the work of others.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion in applying and interpreting laws, rules, and policies governing Access Services.
  • Ability to express ideas succinctly, both orally and in writing.
  • Proficiency in, or ability to learn and use, workplace applications, platforms and technologies.

Benefits

Salary:

  • $48,000 to $50,000, with rates based on education and related work experience.
