Job Title: Physical Therapy Assistant |

Position Summary: Under supervision of the Rehabilitation Services Director and the Physical Therapist, the Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) is responsible for providing a full range of physical therapy services including therapeutic interventions in a team environment consistent with the position's qualifications, professional practices and ethical standards. The PTA shall also demonstrate accountability for and contribution to program development, quality improvement, problem solving and productivity enhancement in a flexible team fashion.
Essential Functions include but are not limited to:
- Knowledge of the principles, methods, practices, techniques, equipment and procedures used in physical therapy.
- Provides treatment according to supervising therapist’s treatment plan
- Communicates effectively to supervising staff member regarding patient progress, problems, and plans
- Records daily treatment notes, updates goals, portions of monthly progress notes and discharge summaries timely and completely
- Completes required work capacity documentation prior to physician visits for patients with workers compensation
- Records treatment changes in an accurate and timely manner
- Administers manual therapy and application of modalities and physical agents
- Instructs, motivates, safeguards and assists patients through therapeutic exercise and functional activities
- Observes patients during treatments to collect and evaluate data on patient responses and progress updating the supervising therapist as needed/requested
- Assist with supervising rehab aides
- Assists in training new aide and PTA staff
- Knowledge of equipment and the ability to adjust equipment to suite patient’s needs.
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with staff and excellent communication skills in guiding patients to assume responsibility for their treatment and development.
- Ability to prioritize work.
- Knowledge of computers.

- Builds and promotes a culture of service excellence and continuous improvement.
- Attendance: works as scheduled and is compliant with Attendance and Tardiness Policy.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education & Qualifications:
- Required: New Hampshire PTA license, BCLS
Preferred: Associates Degree from an accredited program
