Community Habilitation Worker - Residential
We help people live healthy and full lives at Access Supports for Living. We are seeking Community Habilitation Workers (CHW) in the Hudson Valley area. The CHW will provide skill building training and supports to individuals with developmental disabilities.
Job Description:
The Community Habilitation Worker will:
- Provide mentoring/teaching services to individuals with developmental disabilities to achieve personal outcomes and growth.
- Teach daily living skills, such as money handling, socialization, cooking, and job search.
- Possibly perform lifting or assisting with hygiene functions for selected individuals.
- Work on valued outcomes with steps to achieve them based on caregivers/community supports and behaviors observed.
The Community Habilitation Worker will travel to assigned locations and attend trainings as required.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience working with related populations, such as intellectual development disabilities and autism spectrum disorders.
- Strong interpersonal and engagement skills.
- Ability to document services and understand regulations.
- Bilingual English and Spanish speaking a plus.
