Salary: $55,431 Annually
Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00-4:30 with Flexibility and On-Call Responsibilities
OVERVIEW OF PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES:
Direct Support Professional Administrator (DSPA) manages the administrative functions for the IDD residential team in collaboration with the DSP Supervisors and Assistant Directors. DSPA’s work as part of an interdisciplinary team (clinical staff, nurses, supervisors, directors, human resource, etc.) providing support to the teams who work with adults with intellectual/ developmental disabilities.
DSPA’s support the overall operations of the IDD residential program ensuring compliance with state and OPWDD regulations as well as agency policies and procedures. DSPA’s assist with ensuring the program staffing budget is maintained. DSPA’s assist with ensuring continuous coverage to maintain staffing ratios at each residential site.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:
Duties and responsibilities vary in intensity and frequency:
- Supports residential settings with individuals with varying diagnoses.
- Collaborates with Human Resources, DSP Supervisors and Assistant Directors to promote staff recruitment (i.e. - job fairs, open interviews), screening, interviewing, selection, retention, training and professional development.
- Maintains applicant-tracking system and follows applicants through the hiring process to ensure timeliness of hire.
- Supports employees with finding new positions in order to increase retention.
- Tracks direct care staff’s training due dates to ensure compliance with no lapse and provides reminders as needed.
- Support internal applicants who want to drop down to per diem or take on an additional role as a DSP per diem (i.e. - change of status, training completion, etc.).
- Completes staff performance agreements, which are aligned with Core Competencies.
- Provides performance feedback and initiates progressive discipline as needed.
- Creates and updates master schedules for all residential sites.
- Implements central scheduling.
- Completes change of status forms and shift change letters as needed.
- Initiates opening of position by submitting requisition requests.
- Provides support in covering residences in absence of DSP Supervisor.
- Participates in meetings as deemed necessary in order to provide support to DSP Supervisors (i.e. - family, staff, life plans, etc.).
- Ensures master schedules provide continuous care in order to ensure for the overall safety of individuals and direct care staff.
- Ensures routine maintenance, cleaning and tracking of agency vehicle is completed.
- Participates in screening individuals for program vacancies as necessary.
- Reports and resolves incidents and compliance issues in a timely manner and ensures direct reports do the same.
- Assists with scheduling of per diem DSP’s and ensures all are working consistently.
- Assists with coverage issues and provides essential coverage as needed.
- Utilizes technology to review and approve staff timesheets, ensuring all hours are accurately charged.
- Completes training programs; trains others as required and attends departmental, agency and relevant community meetings.
- Complete POM’s as assigned.
- Monitoring compliance with regulatory and agency protocols, policies and procedures.
- Completes on-call list annually and ensures all lists remain accurate throughout the year.
- Participate in on-call rotation providing supervisory support to cluster of residence as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND ATTRIBUTES:
- Ability to effectively communicate
- Have computer skills including experience with Excel and the ability to create spreadsheets
- Possess excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to function as a member of a multidisciplinary team
- Possess sensitivity to the service population’s cultural and socio-economic characteristics
- Ability to organize, multitask and prioritize duties and responsibilities efficiently
- Ability to work independently
- Must maintain current license/ certification/ training
- Possess a valid driver’s license, work eligibility status and have an excellent driving record
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- At least 4 years’ experience in the field and at least 2 years supervisory experience in any field.
Or
- Associate’s degree with 3 years’ experience in the field and at least 1-year supervisory experience in any field.
Or
- Bachelor’s Degree in any field with at least 1-year experience in the field and at least 1- year supervisory experience in any field.
Or
- Internal candidate with at least 4 years’ experience in the field and demonstrated capacity for increased responsibility
