What are the responsibilities and job description for the Driver Supervisor position at Access To Healthcare Network?
Job Purpose: Oversee daily operations of a transportation team and drive a wheelchair-accessible vehicle to provide safe, efficient door-to-door service for clients with mobility limitations. Ensure driver schedules, performance, and vehicle maintenance meet safety standards and AHN policies.
Basic Requirements:
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required
- Valid Nevada Driver's license and clean five-year DMV record
- Pass drug tests and background check
- Comply with Nevada traffic laws
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct driver training on safety, route optimization, and policies
- Coordinate with dispatchers for route changes and issues
- Manage driver substitutions and absences
- Inspect vehicles and ensure maintenance
- Monitor driver performance and address concerns
- Maintain records of driver incidents
- Address customer concerns
- Transport clients to appointments and errands
- Provide mobility assistance and ensure safe transport
- Maintain client records via smartphone
- Act as a liaison for community programs
- Maintain professional appearance and excellent customer service
- Troubleshoot and solve problems
- Adapt to changing work environments and duties
Education: High School Diploma
Minimum Experience:
- 2 years as a lead in transportation logistics, routing, and scheduling
- 2 years experience with transportation management systems and fleet tracking software
- 2 years computer experience, including Microsoft Office Suite
- 5 years driving experience, commercial vehicle experience preferred
- Ability to use a smartphone
Work Environment:
- Exposure to various weather conditions and mechanical parts
- Moderate noise level
- Ability to sit in a vehicle for 6-8 hours daily
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Perform physical activities such as bending, walking, sitting, squatting, reaching, twisting, pushing, pulling, grasping, kneeling, crawling, and climbing
- Specific vision abilities required
