JOB SUMMARY: The Youth Services Specialist is responsible for delivery and coordination of direct services and classes for youth with disabilities. The Youth Services Specialist may also assist with providing the array of Independent Living Services offered by Access to Independence.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
Coordination and delivery of a variety of classes for youth with disabilities
a) Plan, prepare, and facilitate pre-employment transition classes provided to youth with disabilities.
b) Plan, prepare, and facilitate healthy relationship and sexuality classes provided to youth with disabilities.
c) Plan, prepare, and facilitate classes and activities for Children’s Long-Term Services programs.
d) Support and participate in adaptive and inclusive gaming activities and events.
e) Coordinate referrals from external sources, track progress, and ensure clear documentation and reporting, as well as ensure timely billing.
f) Participate in planning and execution of statewide events and best practice groups specific to youth.
g) Build relationships with new and returning entities for outreach, collaboration and community partnerships.
h) Provide outreach to community partners, families and youth with disabilities to improve awareness and demand for classes.

QUALIFICATIONS
· An equivalent combination of education and experience in providing support to persons with disabilities may be substituted for a college degree
· Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in Human Services or other related field is preferred
· Two years of documented experience working with people with disabilities or first hand experience with a disability is required. Experience with youth with disabilities is preferred.
· Experience facilitating groups and assisting others with accomplishing goals is required
· Experience in the delivery of presentations and training to groups is required
· Ability to develop and implement effective skills training is required
· Knowledge of community resources is required
· Ability to communicate effectively is required
· Ability to arrange own transportation for providing services throughout the region is required
· Ability to use computer, as well as operate Microsoft Office software is required
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.50 per hour
