This Assembler/Woodworker position is integral to ensuring high quality product assembly, on-time, and to keeping inventory levels in line with order demands.
Job Description
Summary: Responsible for enabling manufacturing and fulfillment team to complete and ship orders on time for our Works of Heart (www.works-of-heart.com) product lines. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience in woodworking, carpentry, and/or wood finishing. Experience in designing and assembling product displays, running a CNC and/or laser cutting machine are also helpful.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Monitor product inventory and stock wood components as needed
- Woodworking to include using band saw or table saw to cut materials used for product builds; also use laser cutting machine to cut wood items
- Wood finishing, including stapling, nailing, gluing, or bracketing wood components together to send to assembly and packaging team
- Operate machinery such as paint machine, die cut machine, laser machine, printers, and shrink-wrapping equipment
- Perform quality checks on assembled jobs to ensure workmanship is up to required quality standards
- Scan finished goods into computer system to ensure inventory accuracy and place products on appropriate inventory shelves
- Restock work stations or supply cabinets with build tools and materials such as glue, staple guns, beads, prints, magnets, and other materials and accessories
- Ability to back-up pick/pack/ship function to include picking orders from inventory shelves, packing orders using boxes and packing materials, and creating shipping labels and packing slips on computer
Requirements and Experience:
All employees are required to pass a pre-placement background check and drug screen. This position also relies on consistent attendance vital to the success of its integral contributions to our operations. Person must also possess the following:
Required skills or experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent PLUS one year assembly experience.
- Experience working in carpentry or woodworking.
- Proven success in multi-tasking, prioritizing multiple priorities, and time management.
- Dependability and ability to work well in a team environment.
- Ability to work with frequent interruptions yet maintain quality of work.
- Willingness to take initiative to create solutions to problems and implement as appropriate.
- Ability to lift boxes up to 50 pounds.
Helpful skills or experience
- Experience with laser cutters and UV printers a huge plus.
- Experience in high volume product assembly position.
- Experience with quality control.
- Experience packing and shipping products.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour
