Volunteer Coordinator - CASA

Location: Basile Rowe, East Syracuse, NY 13057
Pay Rate: $18.50 - $20.00 Hourly
Schedule: M-Th: 9 a.m. 1 p.m.

Our focus is supporting individuals by ways of residential housing, mental health and clinical services, and immersing our participants in community engagement. Working closely with the Office for People with Developmental Disabilities and the Office of Mental Health, we support 27 housing locations and 3 administrative buildings.
About the Role:
We are looking for a proactive employee to be responsible for assisting with oversight of Court-Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs). This primarily involves supervision of advocates and managing the CASA program services provided to abused and neglected children.
Responsibilities include:

- Monitor administrative aspects of case management including but not limited to, reviewing case outcomes and recommendations, ensuring accuracy of information, and maintaining case history in an online database.
- Submit introductory letters to relevant parties to cases as assigned.
- Provide support and guidance to CASAs.
- Participate in Volunteer Pre-service training
- Respond, screen, and conduct interviews for potential new CASA volunteers.
- Attend meetings in the community as assigned.
- Comply with records retention requirements by NCASAA and OCA standards.
- Under the direction of the Program Manager, oversee recordkeeping to ensure documentation is completed in accordance with relevant regulations.
- Support CASAs to comply with relevant Standards and Procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
Associates degree required, bachelors degree preferred in Psychology, Social Work, Human Services or a closely related field. Must have supervisory experience, strong knowledge of agency and community programs and services available in the community.
Conditions of Employment
Must have a valid New York State drivers license in accordance with the Agency Vehicle and Driving policy and a reliable car for use in program responsibilities.
