Description
JOB SUMMARY:
Diagnoses and treats ailments of the foot, ankle, and related structures.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Examines patient to ascertain condition, utilizing physical findings, laboratory results, and patients
statements as diagnostic aids.
2. Elicits and records information about patients medical history.
3. Orders or executes various tests, analyses, and diagnostic images to provide information on patients condition.
4. Analyses reports and findings of tests and examination, and diagnoses condition of patient.
5. May use local anesthetics and administer or prescribe treatments and medications.
6. Promotes health by advising patients concerning diet, hygiene, and methods for prevention of disease. Determines need for modified diet and physical activities, and recommends plan.
7. Performs surgical procedures commensurate with surgical competency.
- Refers patient to medical specialist for consultant services when necessary for patients well being.
- Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein as may be assigned or delegated.
Qualifications
- EDUCATION/LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION QUALIFICATIONS:
REQUIRED:
PREFERRED:
1. Licensed by the Texas State Board of Podiatric Medical Examiners as a podiatrist.
2. Board Certification in Podiatry AMP, Multiple Specialties in Podiatry. _________.
3. At least one year experience in area of practice.
4. Ability to work with people of all socioeconomic levels.

Hours:
Employees will be assigned to a regular work schedule, which may include hours before 8:00 am, after 5:00 pm, and Saturdays as determined by department needs and requirements.
