Direct Support Professional position overview and responsibilities:
Assisting with activities of daily living
Medication administration
Personal cares
Meal preparation
Housekeeping services
Written and/or electronic communication
Assist residents in obtaining transportation when necessary - including accompanying the resident into the community
Direct Support Professional Qualifications:
Effective verbal and written English communication skills
Problem solving skills
Able to do job tasks with little supervision
A sense of caring – and a desire to make a difference
Must pass a criminal background check
Ability to conduct oneself in a professional manner
