Description
As a Certified Nursing Assistant Float in a elementary care setting, you play a crucial role in providing compassionate and supportive care to students. Your primary responsibility is to assist students with their activities of daily living. This position requires a deep sense of empathy, patience, and a commitment to promoting a safe and nurturing environment for students.
Assist students with personal hygiene tasks
Provide support for toileting needs that includes assisting with transfers
Aid students in moving safely around their living space, using mobility aids as needed
Assist with transfers to and from beds, wheelchairs, and other seating devices
Support students in maintaining proper nutrition and hydration
Assist with feeding and ensure dietary restrictions are adhered to
Administer medications as directed by healthcare professionals
Monitor and report any changes or concerns related to students medication
Engage with students in a positive and compassionate manner
Foster a supportive and caring environment through meaningful interactions
Take and record students vital signs as required
Report any abnormalities or concerns to the nursing or healthcare team
Maintain accurate and up to date records of care provided
Document observations and report any significant changes in students condition
Work collaboratively with nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure proper care to student
Communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team to address students needs
Adhere to safety and infection control protocols
Maintain a clean and organized living environment
Qualifications
Valid Certified Nursing Assistant Certification
CPR and First Aid Certification
Must pass a background check
Knowledge of basic nursing procedures and care techniques
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to handle stressful situations with empathy and composure
