Job Title: ABA Treatment Worker
Job Description: To work as a proactive member of the AccessPoint RI Team, providing meaningful individualized treatment services and supports that encourage children with special health care needs and their families to experience personal growth and reach their fullest potential.
Essential Responsibilities: To provide supports and services consistent with those outlined in the ABA Plan and Individual profile. Services and supports include but are not limited to areas outlined below:
- To ensure that all children with special health care needs and families supported are treated with Dignity and Respect.
- To support children with special health care needs and their families in developing a positive self image.
- To treat each individual within the family as persons who have unique needs and wants.
- To support children with special health care needs and their families to function to they're fullest potential.
- To support children with special health care needs and their families to participate in their home and community in ways that are meaningful to them.
- To encourage children with special health care needs and their families to maintain positive relationships.
- To work with an ABA support team in developing consistent and integrated support techniques, methods and programs.
- To attend and actively participate in team meetings.
- To support and carry out all team decisions consistently and appropriately.
- To attend in-service trainings as determined by the Program Director.
- To gather and submit data related to achieving ABA goals in a timely manner.
- ABA Workers are responsible to maintain the following complete and legible contemporaneous records.
a.) Weekly time sheets which are signed daily by a parent and staff
b.) Daily Documentation sheets which specifies the date, time, location, duration and levels of participation of parent and child for each therapeutic objective.
c.) Individual scoring (data) sheets for each objective listed in the child’s treatment plan. Data is compiled daily and documents the child’s response to treatment, the level of assistance provided by staff or parents, and all other objective information identified by the therapeutic consultant as relevant to the evaluation of care for each objective.
d.) Weekly case presentation sheets that prepare the staff for a supervisory meeting with clinical staff. Case presentations provide staff an opportunity to summarize data and other relevant information for each goal. These documents are also used to record feedback and recommendations provided by clinical staff.
- To complete preparation materials and participate in the semi-annual planning meetings, if requested (ABA status update and renewal, IEP.).
- To ensure the optimal health and safety of children with special health care needs receiving supports.
- To adhere to all safety policies, including safe driving and seatbelt policies.
- All other duties as assigned and/or as identified in the ABA Treatment Plan and Individual Profile.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Is at least 19 years of age.
- High School Diploma or GED required and two years experience working with children with special health care needs or a combination of experience, education, and training working with children with special health care needs and their families or an Associates Degree in a related field.
- Willingness and ability to complete and perform CPR and Non-Violent Physical Crisis Intervention (NCI).
- Willingness and ability to complete ABA Training Curriculum.
- Valid Drivers License and acceptable driving record required.
- Access to and provision of an insured automobile on an ongoing basis.
Supervision Exercised: None
Supervision Received: Treatment Coordinator, for all non-clinical responsibilities.
Clinical Supervisor for all clinical responsibilities.
