Job Description
Accident Centers of Texas is a multidisciplinary practice providing Physical therapy and chiropractic related services. We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Collection Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong blend of personal injury, auto injury, LOP, and Medical Collections expertise.
Job Duties
- Monitor accounts for company and affiliated entities on daily basis
- Identify outstanding account receivables and investigate historical data for debts and bills
- Document all collection activities in our accounts receivable computer system to ensure accurate record-keeping
- Resolve any outstanding billing issues, liaise with internal department for follow up and entry
- Review reductions which have been processed by reduction department
- Strive to maintain excellent customer relations through professional conduct
- Contact clients (Attorneys) via phone and email to follow up on overdue invoices and resolve payment issues.
- Update account status records and collection efforts for accurate reporting
- Act as a point of contact between the credit department and other departments to resolve issues and provide necessary information
- Generate and maintain financial reports related to billing and collections performance.
- Prepare and present reports on collection activities and progress and monitor any discrepancies
- Assure that any issues and discrepancies are handled in a timely manner
- All other duties as assigned
Required Skills
- Candidate must be great multi-tasker, dependable, organized and a team player.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation
- Strong understanding of medical collection processes and procedures
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers
- Previous Medical Billing /Collections experience is highly desirable
- Must have EMR, EHR experience
- Comfortable handling heavy call volume
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Law office or case manager experience is preferred.
- Bilingual is a must
