Job Description
This Infrastructure Engineer III role is responsible for maintaining, optimizing, and ensuring the reliability of the company's network infrastructure, including circuits, SASE, routers, switches, SD-WAN, cloud networking, firewalls, and load balancers. The position requires a keen focus on monitoring network performance through a range of tools and systems to ensure high availability and a seamless end-user experience. This includes proactively identifying and resolving performance issues, fine-tuning network components, and responding to incidents in real-time.
In addition to daily operations, the role may also engage in strategic projects to deploy and integrate new technologies that support the company's evolving network needs. The Infrastructure Engineer III will contribute to enhancing network assurance practices, utilizing data-driven insights to optimize network reliability, and refining documentation to improve operational efficiency. A key responsibility is driving cross-training efforts within the team to ensure the sharing of expertise, continuous improvement, and long-term operational excellence.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES / TASKS :
- Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs), database administrators, internal and external vendors to understand network requirements and design viable solutions using industry-standard networking protocols and tools.
- Provide proactive support and troubleshooting for production and non-production network environments, ensuring adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and maintaining optimal performance.
- Work independently with minimal supervision, while mentoring and guiding less senior staff members to support their growth and development.
- Lead the development of network-related standards, policies, and procedures, ensuring that all middleware and network systems align with best practices and organizational requirements.
- Analyze complex network systems (LAN / WAN), including planning, designing, evaluating, and configuring operating systems, protocol suites, and communication media with devices like routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Troubleshoot and resolve challenging interoperability issues to ensure seamless operation across all network platforms, including email, file transfer, multimedia, and teleconferencing systems.
- Optimize network infrastructure for performance, scalability, and security, proactively identifying areas for improvement and ensuring a high level of service reliability.
- Lead projects to deploy and integrate new network technologies, including SD-WAN, SASE, firewalls, and cloud networking, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal impact on operations.
- Conduct routine network performance tests, security assessments, and infrastructure health checks to ensure systems are secure, reliable, and functioning optimally.
- Work with cross-functional teams to coordinate the installation, relocation, and configuration of network equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum efficiency.
- Maintain an up-to-date understanding of emerging network technologies, tools, and best practices, applying this knowledge to continuously improve the network environment.
- Lead the creation and refinement of network documentation, including detailed configurations, troubleshooting guides, and standard operating procedures, to support efficient and secure operations.
- Recommend and implement improvements to network management methods and procedures, ensuring ongoing optimization and operational excellence.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues related to core infrastructure components, performing root cause analysis and implementing preventative measures to mitigate future service interruptions.
NETWORKING RESPONSIBILITIES / TASKS :

EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS :
EDUCATION OR EQUIVALENT EXPERIENCE :
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field required. Certification or progress toward certification of, industry-recognized professional designation preferred and encouraged. Combinations of relevant education and work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Continuous learning, as defined by Company's learning philosophy, is required.
EXPERIENCE :
7 years' experience within an IT environment which provides the necessary skills, knowledge and abilities. One-year relevant experience supporting personal computers in a multi-site, multi-platform environment as well as telephone support of remote staff preferred. Experience within the insurance industry highly preferred.

Work is performed in an office setting with no unusual hazards. Regular travel is required with occasional overnight stays. Extensive auto travel requires the incumbent to possess and maintain a valid driver's license with no major violations.

Pay Range - Actual compensation decision relies on the consideration of internal equity, candidate's skills and professional experience, geographic location, market, and other potential factors. It is not standard practice for an offer to be at or near the top of the range, and therefore a reasonable estimate for this role is between $80,900 and $211,900.
