Senior Project Manager

We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead projects from concept through completion, ensuring every phase is effectively managed. This role will focus on planning, executing, and delivering projects on time and within budget while maintaining strong relationships with customers and stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in project management, strong leadership abilities, and the capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Duties

Project Management

1. Develop, manage, and oversee project scope, schedules, and budgets to ensure alignment with project goals and requirements.
2. Provide detailed, regular updates to project teams, stakeholders, and leadership to ensure transparency and accountability.
3. Identify and mitigate scope changes while managing change requests effectively.
4. Document lessons learned to promote continuous improvement within the project management process.
5. Collaboratively manage projects with internal and external teams to achieve desired outcomes.
6. Adhere to established project management processes and best practices.
7. Build and maintain strong, long-term customer relationships to ensure satisfaction and exceed expectations.
8. Develop comprehensive project proposals with input from technical and financial stakeholders.
9. Manage external supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure performance aligns with project goals.
10. Support the PMO and contribute to the maintenance of project management methodologies as needed.

People Leadership

11. Lead cross-functional teams to define tasks, schedules, and technical directions, ensuring alignment with project objectives.

12. Train, mentor, and develop project management staff to foster a high-performing team.

13. Evaluate team performance, address resource needs, and collaborate with senior management to optimize team functionality.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Competencies

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, materials science, computer science/engineering, mathematics, or business required.
• Master's degree preferred.

Experience:

• 510 years of experience in program/project management, systems engineering, or product development.
• Familiarity with project management frameworks, tools, and software.
• Experience working with government and commercial aerospace customers, including knowledge of launch vehicles and payload development.
• Background in CubeSats, Small Satellites, or other space-related platforms preferred.
• Familiarity with biological or chemical processes is a plus.

Certifications & Licenses:

• PMP certification required.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher required.
