Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour, based on experience

Summary:
The Medical Records Coordinator is responsible for maintaining personal health information of facility residents through scanning, processing and reviewing medical records in a manner consistent with medical, administrative, ethical, legal and regulatory requirements. The Medical Records Coordinator will perform a variety of tasks while maintaining a high level of confidentiality and quality. The Medical Records Coordinator maintains the integrity of the legal health record so complete and accurate records are available for resident’s care and business use in a timely manner.
Responsibilities:
- Receive and process requests for patient health information in accordance with Company and Facility policies and procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality and security with all privileged information.
- Maintain working knowledge of Company and facility software.
- Adhere to the Company's and Facility’s Code of Conduct and policies.
- Assist with additional work duties or responsibilities as evident or required.
- Enhanced need for attention to detail for medical records.
- Consistent application of medical privacy regulations to guard against unauthorized disclosure.
- Responsible for maintaining resident health records.
- Responsible for safeguarding resident records and ensuring compliance with HIPAA standards.
- Prepares documents and information from paper sources and/or electronic health records.
- Creates digital images of paperwork to be stored in the electronic medical record.
- Ensures medical records are assembled in standard order and are accurate and complete.
- Responds to requests for patient records, both within the facility and by external sources, retrieving them and transmitting them appropriately.
- Answers calls and email requests with professionalism.
- May assist with facility tours
- Other duties as assigned
