As an Activity Director, your responsibilities include:
- Directing and managing activity staff to ensure adequate provision of activities for residents.
- Overseeing administrative functions within the Activity Department, including staff recruitment, performance evaluations, and recommendations for promotions or terminations.
- Developing and implementing activity service objectives, policies, and procedures.
- Monitoring compliance with Federal and State guidelines and updating Departmental procedures as necessary.
- Recommending and collaborating on in-service educational programs tailored to the specialized needs of geriatric patients.
- Monitoring ongoing staff development programs for activity personnel.
- Acting as a liaison between residents, families, staff, and the general public to provide information on activity services.
- Ensuring compliance with care plans and resident assessments regulations.
- Monitoring the quality of group and one-on-one activities provided to residents.
- Assisting with preparing the Departmental annual budget and maintaining operating budgets for personnel and activity equipment.
- Making recommendations for activity equipment purchases and managing related expenses.
- Performing any tasks related to resident activities as requested by the administrator.
- Carrying out all other duties as assigned.
To succeed as an Activity Director, you will need:
- Completion of a skilled nursing activity program or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Excellent management and leadership skills.
- The ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing, to complete required documentation.
- Respect for the principles of resident rights, confidentiality, EEO, and ADA.
- Creativity and enthusiasm for providing quality activity services to residents.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to balance multiple priorities.
Salary : $38,000 - $50,000
