Pay: $55,000 - $75,000 annual salary

The primary purpose of the Medicaid Specialist position is to oversee the quality of resident account services at the facility; to assure resident accounts services are provided in accordance with the facility's established policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, and the directions of your supervisors, who include the AR Manager, Chief Operating Officer and other members of Accolade Healthcare management to whom such persons report; and to implement the resident account policies established by, and to assist in providing resident account services in this facility in order to assure the highest level of resident account services is maintained at all times.

The primary purpose of the Medicaid Specialist position is to oversee the quality of resident account services at the facility; to assure resident accounts services are provided in accordance with the facility's established policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, and the directions of your supervisors, who include the AR Manager, Chief Operating Officer and other members of Accolade Healthcare management to whom such persons report; and to implement the resident account policies established by, and to assist in providing resident account services in this facility in order to assure the highest level of resident account services is maintained at all times.
Medicaid Specialist Qualifications:
- Must possess, at a minimum, a high school education.
- Must have experience as a supervisor or coordinator in a hospital, nursing facility, or a similar type of health care facility, or equivalent experience or training.
- Must have experience in providing, coordinating, or administering nursing, medical records, admissions, resident receivables, resident funds, or similar health-related services.
- Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
- Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with other health care institutions, social service agencies, staff, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies and their representatives, outside health care professionals, vendors, support agencies and the general public.
- Must be a minimum of twenty-one (21) years of age.
- Valid Driver's License and willing to drive on a weekly basis, or as needed.
- Must possess leadership and supervisory ability and willingness to work harmoniously with and coordinate the activities of professional and non-professional personnel.
- Must have patience, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness and ability to handle difficult representatives of other health care institutions and government and other agencies, as well as residents, family members and legal representatives.
- Remote opportunity, with minimal travel required.
- Illinois residency required.
- Communicate with the facility's bookkeeping office.
- Submit Medicaid Applications and complete timely follow up on pending cases.
- Enter admit packets into MEDI within 15 days of admission and ensure proper documentation is sent to facility caseworkers.
- Record Income changes timely
- Maintain Medicaid Pending and Pending Admit log for each.
- Submit all re-determinations for Medicaid in a timely manner. If a case gets canceled, denied or in the appeal process; it is the Medicaid Specialist’s responsibility to follow up with the necessary Medicaid office until case gets reinstated.
- Responsible to oversee the appeal process and provide education when necessary
- All other duties as assigned
