Applicants are expected to have excellent news judgment, an understanding of local issues and demonstrable strengths in accurate editing and writing. The successful candidate will be expected to be well-rounded and help write and post up breaking news, and be able to handle a variety of forms of journalism to drive digital engagement. The producer must be creative, collaborative and an innovative thinker when it comes to producing content for our readers. Candidates must be familiar with digital publication skills, SEO best practices, editing and headline writing, content packaging and Canadian Press style. A knowledge of social media platforms, leveraging those platforms and generating interest in content is required.
