Principal Electrical Engineer (Principal Test Engineer)

As a Principal Electrical Engineer you will focus on optimizing the manufacturing and testing of electrical systems for our products. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to improve the electrical manufacturing processes and develop test strategies for PCBA validation. This role requires expertise in electrical systems testing, PCBA manufacturing, and providing guidance to ensure product quality and reliability in production environments.
Lead the development and implementation of PCBA test plans and strategies for
manufacturing, ensuring and reliable testing of electrical systems.
Design and oversee the development of automated test systems, test fixtures, and key test points to ensure product functionality and quality.
Perform failure analysis and troubleshooting to identify and resolve electrical and manufacturing issues in production.
Collaborate with the design and development team to optimize product designs for manufacturing and testing.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
10 years of experience in electrical engineering with a focus on PCBA and OEM product manufacturing and testing.
Proven expertise in developing and implementing PCBA test plans, test systems, and automated testing processes.
Strong background in electrical testing, failure analysis, and troubleshooting in a production environment.
Proficient in electrical design and testing tools (e.g., oscilloscopes, signal generators, multimeters, etc.).
In-depth knowledge of PCBA manufacturing processes and electrical assembly standards.
Experience working with contract manufacturers and suppliers to ensure production and high-quality outcomes.
Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail
Strong leadership abilities, with experience mentoring and guiding junior engineers.
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet product requirements.
Familiarity with industry standards and regulations (e.g., UL, CE, RoHS, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with high-reliability product designs (e.g., automotive, aerospace, medical devices).
Familiarity with FPGA and/or embedded systems.
Certification in Six Sigma or similar process improvement methodologies.
