This is a Senior Continuous Improvement Engineer opportunity with a very well-known global medical device company.
Job Description:
- Assist in coordination of activity of component teams and focused improvement project teams to avoid loss.
- Help generate, sustain, and deliver a multi-year Cost to Win portfolio, optimization of the site loss landscape, and support governance processes.
- Help meet or exceed Cost to Win goals through supporting or leading Focused Improvement team savings projects.
- Teach and coach company excellence concepts and systematic approach, including core components, strategy deployment, Zero Loss mentality and all related methodologies / tools.
- Lead and facilitate breakthrough Kaizen events and support other company excellence components in problem solving capability development.
- Grow and develop problem solving capability at all levels.
- Support development of zero loss attitude across critical areas to optimize delivery, cost, and quality while improving safety.
- Help develop and grow capability through components and component teams to establish the fundamentals of excellence in safety, quality, and reliability.
- Guide and coach project selection process to ensure efficient focus of resources and time on priorities.
- Ensure strategic alignment through cascading Key Performance Indicators top down and bottom up. Support the company’s excellence deployment and governance process across all relevant components.
- Active member of Focused Improvement component team.
- Drive excellence capability development through deployment of progressively advanced aspects of component methodologies.
- Drive use of effective data-driven visual-management techniques, e.g., Business-Operating-System (BOS) charts to drive improvement of critical metrics such as OEE, waste, labor productivity, etc.
- Maintain an active role in governance and action tracking of improvements, with periodic reporting of activity completion dates, expected and achieved results.
- Provides level of influence and input regarding key plant decisions and resource planning.
- Implements responsibilities with a large degree of autonomy requiring minimal day-to-day oversight by immediate supervisor.
- Accountable for completing work tasks and setting own work direction.
- Erroneous decisions or recommendations may cause delays and result in the allocate on of more resources.
- Has some impact on productivity, OPEX budget, and Cost to Win performance.

Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Previous experience in implementing, and strong knowledge of, Lean and Six Sigma business systems.
- Six sigma green or black belt certification preferred.
- Minimum 3 years manufacturing experience in a plant
- Track record in project or program management
- Eye for business and ability to display the linkage between projects and desired business results
- Able to develop compelling business case for resource investment, aligned with Cost to Win finance policies and Guidelines
