As Director of Banquets, you will provide vision and leadership that fosters an engaged team and ensures quality, efficiency, and superior service at each group function.What you will be doing : Reporting to the Director of Food & Beverage, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following : Ensure all functions maintain a first-class and positive visual impact; including ambiance, décor, and service deliveryCoach and train the Banquet leadership team in all aspects of the departmentFollow the annual budget and administer it in a fiscally responsible mannerEnsure all financial reporting is maintained and accurate billing for each banquet meeting is recordedAssume responsibility for all banquet facilities, including cleanliness, repair and maintenance, reporting any deficiencies as requiredBalance operational, administrative and Colleague needsOther duties as assignedPhysical Aspect of the Position (include but are not limited to) : Constant standing and walking throughout shiftFrequent lifting and carrying up to 30 lbsOccasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, liftingOccasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and rampsQualificationsYour experience and skills include : Previous leadership experience in food and beverage requiredComputer literate in Microsoft Window applications requiredUniversity / College degree in a related discipline preferredExcellent communication and organizational skillsStrong interpersonal and problem solving abilitiesHighly responsible & reliableAbility to work well under pressure in a fast paced environmentAbility to work cohesively as part of a teamAbility to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all timesCandidates must be legal to serve alcohol in Alberta (18 years of age) and must possess ProServe certificationMust be legally eligible to work in Canada.
