As Director, Banquets, you will provide vision and leadership that fosters an engaged team and ensures quality, efficiency and superior service at each group function.Why work for Fairmont Pacific Rim?Employee benefit card offering discounted rates in Accor worldwideA competitive salary, starting from $90,000.00 per annumExclusive access to the Pacific Northwest Food & Beverage Discount Program with 50% off at our dining destinations in Vancouver, Victoria, and WhistlerTravel reimbursement program for a TransLink monthly passExtensive benefits package including health, paramedical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance for those meeting eligibility requirementsCompany-matched pension plan and ability to enroll in the Group Registered Retirement Savings Plan for those meeting eligibility requirementsComplimentary hotel stay for newly hired employees with breakfast for two through our BE OUR GUEST programWhat you will be doing : Consistently offer luxury service to our clients and guestsDirect and manage all activity related to the Banquet department, ensuring all service standards are followed and key performance indicators achievedLead and manage the banquet team, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluation.Organize, plan and schedule for all functions in the banquets area of hotelOversee all aspects of banquet operations, including setup, service, and breakdown of events.Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, hotel policies, and industry standards.Address and resolve any issues or challenges that arise during event planning and executionLiaise with catering and sales team as required for event sales and set upAssume responsibility for all banquet facilities, including cleanliness, repair and maintenance, reporting any deficiencies as requiredAttend pre-conference meetings with clients to confirm all relevant details are communicatedFollow the annual budget and administer it in a fiscally responsible mannerEnsure all financial reporting is maintained and accurate billing for each event is accurately recordedBalance operational, administrative and Colleague needsConduct regularly scheduled departmental meetingsConduct regular inspections and evaluations of banquet services and staff performance.Implement and monitor standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure efficiency and excellence.Other duties as assignedYour experience and skills include : Demonstrated leadership skills to support an environment of colleague growth and development, interdepartmental teamwork and exceptional customer service.2-3 years previous Banquet leadership required in luxury service environmentLuxury five diamond operation experience preferredProven track record of managing high-profile events, including weddings, corporate functions, and galas.Diploma or degree in Hotel / Restaurant Management or related discipline a strong assetA proven team player, possessing a high degree of professionalism, energy and determination.Experience leading and managing a team of banquet staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management.Strong attention to detail and ability to plan and execute flawless eventsAbility to stay current with industry trends and incorporate innovative ideas into banquet services.Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and lead a diverse team.Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilitiesAbility to work well under pressure in a fast paced environmentResults oriented with the ability to adapt to the challenges of a continually evolving workforce, while remaining flexible and working under pressure.Your team and working environment : Working with a diverse and talented team of passionate individuals, in a luxury hotel environmentA team dedicated to providing the best accommodation guest experienceA team with outstanding attention to detail and is dedicated to delivering unparalleled customer serviceVisa Requirements : Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
