Accor has a portfolio of incomparable brands, led by more than 300,000 employees around the world.Job DescriptionAn exciting opportunity has become available for a Legal Counsel to join our team in Sydney.You will be responsible for providing legal advice and support to all areas of the business with a focus on development, franchise and operations under the guidance of senior lawyers and reporting to Senior Legal Counsel. This position provides astute legal advice with a focus on franchise law, development and regulatory compliance.This role will be based in Sydney in the Accor Corporate Office.Getting to know the role and your responsibilitiesProviding legal advice and support to all areas of the business with a particular focus on the franchise, development, commercial and regulatory compliance teamsPreparing, reviewing, negotiating and drafting amendments to commercial agreements, franchise and development agreements, term sheets and associated documentationAssisting the business in its compliance with legal requirements in particular with respect to the franchising code, data privacy and consumer lawReview of marketing materials, provide advice on competition and consumer lawsPreparation of standard form agreements, precedents and policies for all areas of the businessProvide ongoing in-house legal compliance training and information updates to the businessProviding assistance to senior lawyers on project work, training programs and other matters as and when requiredAssisting to establish and maintain new and effective processesQualificationsWhat we need from you4 - 5 years PQEExperience in a top tier or mid-tier law firm would be highly regardedPrior experience in franchising would be highly regardedAlthough no specific prior knowledge is required for this role, the candidate must be keen to learn and develop skills in a variety of legal areas impacting the businessStrong knowledge and demonstrated experience in the areas of commercial and contract lawKnowledge of Competition and Consumer LawsStrong organisational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task and meet strict deadlinesAn ability to understand and navigate complex stakeholder environmentsStrong personal integrityGood interpersonal skills with ability to communicate with all levels of the businessA relevant tertiary qualification with current practicing certificate for New South Wales or ability to practice in New South Wales.Additional InformationSuitably experienced and qualified applicants who currently have full working rights in Australia will only be considered.Candidate screening and interviews may be conducted prior to the closing date of the advertisement.
