What are the responsibilities and job description for the Driving Instructor position at Accountable Driver Education?
Driving Instructor Job Requirements
- A clean driving record with no DUI offenses (minor citations are acceptable)
- Patience and the ability to effectively teach 15-17-year-old students
- Availability for at least two weekend days per month
- Previous teaching, coaching, or tutoring experience is preferred but not required
- Flexible hours, with 10-40 hours per week based on your availability
- To become a certified driving instructor in Minnesota, candidates must pass a background check and achieve an 80% or higher score on a test covering Minnesota driving laws (this may require 4-6 hours of study time)
- Primary driving instructor position available with the need to work after school hours (Monday-Friday after 3 PM) or on weekends.
Compensation
- Weekend and evening lessons (Monday-Friday after 3 PM) are paid at $24 per hour
- Other hours are paid at $22 per hour
- Paid Training $250 bonus after certification is attained.
- If you already have a valid instructor's license you'll receive a bonus of $250 after your first 40 hours.
