Job Description:
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing sign language interpretation services to support a student's academic and personal needs. This role requires strong communication skills, cultural competency, and the ability to work effectively in a educational setting.
Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality sign language interpretation services to support a student's academic and personal needs
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with students, teachers, and other school staff
- Communicate effectively with students who use American Sign Language (ASL)
- Collaborate with educators to develop and implement individualized education plans
- Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current on best practices in sign language interpretation
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A bachelor's degree in sign language interpretation or a related field
- 3 years of experience as a sign language interpreter in an educational setting
- Strong knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL) and Deaf culture
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced educational environment
