Payroll Supervisor – Lithonia, GA – In-Office - $65,000 - $70,000 10%
Accountants One has been hired by a successful company in the transportation industry to recruit a Payroll Supervisor to add to their team. The ideal candidate will have experience processing salaried, hourly, and 1099 employees using ADP software.
Duties:
- Manage and guarantee weekly disbursement of multi-state payroll including garnishments, benefits, and taxes to employees consistent with federal and state wage and hour laws.
- Supervise the Payroll Specialist and interact with management to ensure that all processes comply with company policies and procedures
- Process new hires, transfers, promotions, and terminations timely
- Help prepare payroll for processing in ADP Workforce Now
- Investigate and adjust reported pay irregularities
- Review/Analyze current payroll for around 1500 employees, benefits, and tax procedures to recommend and implement changes in leading to best-practice operations
- Develop proficiencies and accountability of payroll specialist
- Create and maintain departmental SOPs
- Oversee preparation and distribution of W-2s, 1099s, and 1094-C/1095-C ACA filings
- Audit W-4s, payroll balance sheets, and YTD earnings
- Communicate with operations, HR, and Billing to review cross-departmental impacts and reconcile data sharing
- Ensure systems are set up and updated to reflect our current employee base, including wages, benefits, sick and vacation leave
- Manage regular preparations of relevant management reports, including weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports as requested
- Prepare appropriate federal, state, and local forms as required
- Prepare special reports for tax and social security requirements and insurance purposes
- Manage the preparation of child support and tax garnishment withholdings
- Help with 401k deposits and company match and 401k audit preparation
- Learn and know company benefits and proper deductions
- File federal and state documents as required
- Confidentially maintain all personnel files, changes of status, and payroll records
- Perform additional related duties and assignments as directed by management
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or related OR 5 years of experience
- Experience using ADP Workforce Now highly preferred, general ADP experience required
- Manage multiple tasks while communicating with multiple teammates daily while maintaining confidentiality
- Excel – Pivot and VLOOKUP functions experience required
