A US subsidiary of a growing established privately held (non-PE) global manufacturer of packaging equipment is looking for a Project Accountant (an in-office position) for their North American operations in the Johns Creek area. The company, which primarily distributes and services the equipment it manufactures and sells, continues its steady growth.
Summary Responsibilities:
The Project Accountant is responsible for the accounting (journal entries) and monitoring the financial aspects of each machine order through the completion of the manufacturing process and delivery. This role works closely with sales, application engineers, and project managers, investigating variances, approving project changes, and ensuring that project billings are issued to customers and payments collected. The Project Accountant also assists with month-end closing, reporting (including inventory, A/R, backlog), audits, and, as needed, other ad hoc projects. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of the accounts receivable process, is detail-oriented, and has proven leadership skills.
Candidate Skills, Qualifications, Experience:
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in Project Accounting (from order to collection), preferably in manufacturing & distribution
- Accounting degree required
- Advanced Excel working knowledge - pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas - required
- SAP experience required
- Sales Force experience is desired
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong interpersonal and relationship skills while maintaining the ability to push back when process standards and protocols are compromised.
