Accounting & Tax Professionals is seeking an experienced Tax Preparer. The ideal candidate will have a strong background preparing tax returns in a professional environment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to provide exceptional customer service.

Please note that this is NOT a remote position. You will be required to work on-site at our office location as we encourage our clients to meet with us in person.
Responsibilities :
- Conduct a complete, comprehensive interview of clients to ensure all information needed is collected.
- Preparation of tax returns ranging from simple to complex.
- Identify future tax saving opportunities.
- Ability to research complex tax situations.
- Review accuracy of prior year tax returns and identify potential opportunities.
- Ability to breakdown the tax return for the client to ensure they understand their current results.
- Work with Accounting Staff to complete books in order to prepare accurate returns for our business clients.
- Assist other staff members with IRS and State tax audits.
- Provide excellent customer service.
- Recognize and offer better and more efficient ways of performing your job and assisting clients in performing theirs.
- Additional duties as needed and assigned.
Qualifications :
- 2 years verifiable tax preparation experience in a professional environment.
- Ability to handle multiple clients concurrently
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
- Ability to set priorities and complete tasks despite interruptions
- Experience with professional Tax Preparation Software (we use Lacerte)
- Experience with Xero, Quickbooks Desktop, Quickbooks Online is a plus but not required.
- Proficient with MS / Office.
