JOB SUMMARY
This position provides support for the financial operations of the assigned Department, including purchasing, receiving, invoicing, coding, monitoring, and auditing. This position may also provide administrative support as needed: responding to information requests; organizing and maintaining accurate records; and composing and distributing correspondence or special reports.

This job has/has no supervisory responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Performs various financial activities and maintains complete and systematic sets of records, which provide needed financial information as required by local, state, and federal regulations.
- Provides administrative support organizing office operations and responsibilities.
- Assists with preparations of Department budget(s).
- Prepares monthly financial reports on program budget status.
- Checks and releases all requisitions for all general fund and grant instructional supplies, materials and all other expenditures.
- Supports school site personnel responsible for Department budgets.
- Ensures that revenue is billed in accordance with the scope of work.
- Monitors use of allocated resources to determine availability of funds.
- Monitors expenditures in budgets to determine budget modifications where/when needed.
- Coordinates monthly vs. actual budget review and attends in-house meetings with supervisors.
- Reconciles all accounts.
- Maintains Accounts Receivable ledger.
- Processes and approves Department invoices.
- Verifies of receipts.
- Assists Department Management with all purchases.
- Assists Procurement with auditing receipts and monthly statements for P-Card approval.
- Assists with determining budget expenditures for all school sites.
- Assists various departments with projects and repairs to ensure that financial expenditures are processed.
- Works collaboratively with other support personnel in the office to establish efficient and accurate delivery of service.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s Degree in business education, accounting, or office management preferred. Three (3) years of experience in an accounting environment is required. Or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and/or training that provides the required knowledge and abilities.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge and understanding of accounting principles and procedures.
- Knowledge of general office procedures and equipment.
- Skill in effective communication, both orally and in writing.
- Skill in typing and/or operation of a computer keyboard.
- Comprehensive computer skills using Microsoft Word, Excel, and other applications.
- Good mathematical/accounting skills.
- Good organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze organizational, management, and statistical information and to prepare clear, concise written and oral reports pertaining to this information.
- Knowledge of computerized accounting programs.
- Ability to understand, analyze, and interpret information and instructions.
- Ability to relate to and communicate with other system and school personnel in order to accomplish job responsibilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle deadlines.
- Ability to deal courteously and diplomatically with school employees, vendors, and the general public.
- Ability to perform work requiring meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently without close supervision..
Salary/Terms/Benefits:
- 239 day work year; 8 hours per day
- Salary: Grade 55: Hourly (placement on salary schedule based on years or experience). Up to ten (10) years allowed. The stated salary range reflects the opportunity for pay over the course of the employee’s tenure. The top pay is not a potential starting salary
