Backend Engineer, ML Focus (Early Career)

Role Overview:

We are seeking a motivated Early-Career Backend Engineer to join our growing engineering team. We are looking for someone with a foundation in backend technologies who is eager to apply their skills in a dynamic, AI-focused environment.This engineer will work on backend solutions in collaboration with our AI Platform team, which is a research-engineering focused team oriented around building next generation multi-agent applications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work closely with researchers and scientists to understand backend requirements
• Design, develop, and implement scalable backend systems
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code to support AI-driven applications
• Develop RESTful APIs and services for internal and external consumption
• Optimize application performance, ensuring speed, security, and reliability
• Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing backend systems as necessary
• Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and continuous integration processes
• Contribute to the documentation of backend systems and processes
• Stay up to date with the latest trends in backend development, cloud services, and AI technologies

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience, graduate degree preferred
• Experience: 1-2 years of professional or internship experience in backend development, with hands-on knowledge of server-side technologies
• Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in Python
  • Experience with relational and non-relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB)
  • Familiarity with RESTful API design and development
  • Understanding of cloud platforms (preferably AWS with some knowledge of Azure)
  • Familiarity working with Docker and Kubernetes
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control (Git)

• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
• Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies

Salary: 90k-110k
