- Position Overview: Workday Core HCM Configuration Analyst
- The manager is looking for a candidate with deep expertise in Workday Core HCM, particularly in configuration and process building. Below are the key must-haves for the role:
- Strong Core HCM Experience
- The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience across multiple Core HCM modules, including staffing, benefits, and compensation.
- Staffing: Configuring processes such as employee transfers (e.g., moving roles, promotions, or geographic transfers like U.S. to APAC).
- Compensation: Creating compensation plans, job profiles, and job codes, which include specifying salary ranges, experience levels, and applicable locations for specific roles.
- Benefits: Setting up eligibility for benefits, including retirement plans like 401(k).
- Building Business Processes in Core HCM Areas
- The candidate must have experience designing and implementing business processes within these areas.
- This includes:
- General Processes: Configuring workflows, approvals, and automations to align with organizational needs.
- Excluding Specific Individuals: A deep understanding of how to build business processes that exclude certain individuals from tasks or notifications. For example:
- In a termination process during a reduction in force, HR partners involved in the layoff must not receive tasks or notifications about their own role. The candidate must know how to configure such exceptions effectively.
- Security Background/Experience
- A solid understanding of Workday security is essential. The candidate should be able to explain their experience with setting up and maintaining Workday security frameworks to ensure compliance and data integrity. This is an ongoing focus for the team, so expertise in Workday roles, permissions, and data security is critical.
- Advanced Compensation Expertise (Key Requirement)
- The manager is specifically looking for someone with advanced compensation experience who can build, support, and roll out advanced compensation plans in Workday—not just someone who has seen or participated in the process.
- This includes:
- Traditional Compensation: Configuring foundational processes, such as defining salaries for FTE roles or sales plans with performance-based measures.
- Advanced Compensation: Building more complex frameworks, such as:
- Configuring year-end review processes where employee ratings feed into recommendations for merit increases, bonuses, or other adjustments.
- Managing pools of funds allocated to managers and creating recommendations based on pre-defined criteria and performance metrics.
