The Adult Education Instructor is responsible for the day-to-day instruction and supervision of adult learners. These individuals attend class for the purpose of improving basic skills in order to obtain their GED or High School Diploma. A major emphasis in this program is to become gainfully employed and/or to retain employment. The continuation of the position is contingent upon grant renewal. Salary Schedule D3Salary Range: $31,289 - $52,194 (9 months); $10,430-$17,397 (3 months, if applicable)
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Demonstrate and maintain a high level of competence and expertise in the teaching field or subject area.Facilitate student learning by utilizing a variety of learning options to meet individual student needs.Maintain necessary attendance and records and submit them according to announced deadlines.Evaluate and record student performance/achievement in a timely manner and provide prompt feedback to students to assure learning outcomes.Participate in the planning of effective long-range and short-term goals for the department and college.Maintains and enters student data into the Alabama Adult Education System for Accountability and Performance (AAESAP).Perform other duties as required by the Alabama Department of Postsecondary Education.
