The Director shall be a highly effective and professional leader, who can appropriately prioritize job tasks, cultivate a hard-working and harmonious team atmosphere, promote a positive image of the Center and College within the community at large, manage emotions during conflict or while under stress, and communicate effectively with all supervisors and Center staff. The Director will be responsible for the overall management, programming, and promotion of the center, ensuring it serves as a cultural cornerstone for the community.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
1. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Performing Arts Center, including staff management, budgeting, and facility maintenance.2. Develop and implement a comprehensive programming schedule that includes a variety of performances, events, and community outreach initiatives.3. Cultivate relationships with artists, performers, and community organizations to enhance programming and collaboration.4. Lead marketing efforts to promote events and increase community engagement, including social media, press releases, and community partnerships.5. Manage box office operations, ticketing systems, and patron services to ensure a positive audience experience.6. Build and maintain relationships with local nonprofits, schools, and businesses to encourage event space utilization.7. Organize and host community events that showcase the space and its potential for various functions.8. Ensure all money collected from ticket sales is reconciled and turned over to the Business Office in a timely manner.9. Manage concession stand operations, such as ordering refreshments, stocking, sales, reconciling and turning money over to Business Office in a timely manner.10. Oversee caterers, event coordinators, and security.11. Resolve problems and guest inquiries.12. Create, implement, and promote a vision and ongoing strategic plans for the Center, in consultation with the President and stakeholders.13. Professionally lead, coordinate, and manage all the operations, functions and activities at the Center.14. Coordinate a comprehensive annual and long-term marketing/advertising strategy for the Center which will promote recognition and positive image building.15. Develop and manage a budget in support of the College’s annual budget.16. Properly supervise and evaluate Center staff according to college policies.17. Identify and provide opportunities for in-service training needs and professional development opportunities for Center staff.18. Represent the Center with and to the public, establishing credibility and a positive public perception for the College.19. Coordinate production of high-quality print and electronic communications materials for the Center.20. Build and maintain positive contacts with community groups who have an interest in the Center.21. Coordinate special projects, events, and activities in keeping with the mission and goals of the Center.22. Coordinate with the College’s Master Calendar regarding events and activities.23. Establish and maintain a harmonious and positive working relationship with all college employees, civic and community leaders, and the public.24. Demonstrate the highest standards of competence, professionalism, confidentiality, ethics, loyalty, honesty, and integrity.25. Maintain appropriate records including a current inventory of Center equipment.26. Ensure that the Center operates as an integral part of the College and the community which it serves.27. POSITION AVAILABLE: February 2025SALARY: Salary Schedule C3 A $64,849 - $103,055, to be determined by the applicant’s education and years of applicable experience.
