Coordinate and supervise office activities of the Campus Police Department. Under the direction of the Chief of Police, provide dispatching services via a dispatch radio system to the College Officers in the field and Disabled Student Programs cart service. Process department incoming calls, answer questions pertaining to citations, citation appeals, reports, and parking permits. Provide routine and confidential clerical services to the department; provide information to students, staff, faculty, and public.Reporting Authority: Chief of Campus Police

The essential job functions listed are not comprehensive and duties and responsibilities may change without notice.Perform office activities to include but not limited to filing, records retention, duplication, typing, word processing, and faxing.Operate the campus telephone system, including any integrated Telecommunications Device for the Deaf (TDD)systems, and serve as receptionist for the Campus Police and Visitors Information Center.Monitor police radio, weather radio, robbery alarms, and emergency phone, and dispatch officers and/or information accordingly (In accordance with Federal Communications Commission regulations, standard public safety dispatching guidelines, and college department policies and procedures, communicate by two-way radio with public safety officers, other mutual aid as needed, and other campus departments. Relay and coordinate information and provide support to all field units.)Process all parking tickets written at all Bishop State campuses and sites, using NCIC, and place necessary holds on student accounts using Banner.Serve as Agency Information Security Officer (AISO) and Terminal Agency Coordinator (TAC) for department.Using EPOST, enter in all shooting qualification scores and CEU’s from classes taken by departmental Police Officers.Directly responsible for making rapid decisions prioritizing incoming calls.Order and maintain office supplies, equipment, and decals.Assist in preparing annual budget.Compile and maintain information for Tier Two, ACJIC, and Building reports.Coordinate registration for CEU classes hosted by Campus Police Department.Maintain emotional self-control and confidentiality. Utilize discretion when interviewing callers during emergency and non-emergency incidents.Respond to various campus camera and alarm systems.Enter, read, interpret, query and relay information obtained from the CAD system and other databases to officers in the field, in accordance with the College and department policies and procedures.Exercise proper judgment in emergency situations for which established procedures may not exist.Provide public information and directions regarding departmental procedures and practices including but not limited to requesting safety reports, filing commendations and complaints against departmental employees. Generate a Daily Crime Log for the public to review per the Clery Act.Update various references, geographical list, alarm data base information.Perform informational searches in the CAD System and other computerized data bases for officers in the field and internal processing.Other duties as assigned by the Campus Police Chief and/or President.
