The Website Manager oversees the technical, backend, maintenance and administrative operations of the Lawson State Community College website. This manager also ensures that Lawson State’s website functions well and provides an exceptional user experience. In addition, this manager evaluates website performance, facilitates hosting and server management, and develops, maintains and updates website content. Backend development and CMS oversight are among this manager’s key duties, in addition to ensuring compliance with accessibility and security standards. Overall, this team-oriented colleague collaborates with campus leaders to ensure content is clearly communicated, that brand standards are always maintained, and that all digital assets of the College meet accessibility requirements. Salary Schedule: E2-02 appropriate placement based on experience
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Oversee the development, configuration, and maintenance of the College’s website, which may include coding and backend programming.Manage the development and ongoing maintenance of all aspects of the college's website while coordinating web projects across college stakeholder groups. Keep the website’s domain and hosting registration current, as well as other institutional, web-based subscriptions. Customize and maintain the college’s Content Management System (CMS) platform, including mandatory plugins, APIs, or other third-party integrations.Collaborate with internal and external partners for digital marketing integration; and provide support for digital advertising, online marketing initiatives, and e-mail campaigns. Monitor web analytics, perform usability tests, adjust and troubleshoot to optimize for speed.Work to enhance the user experience and the customer journey, based on data-driven insights.Manage Google Business, Google Analytics and similar tools for the College. Ensure website compliance with Section 508 (Accessibility) standards, WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines), and other appropriate ADA laws and regulations. Maximize Search Engine Optimization (SEO) strategy for the college. Oversee website backups; work closely with Management Information Services (MIS) and host service to reduce downtime.Collaborate with MIS and other stakeholders to support integration of databases and web services for systems such as admissions, library services, and athletics.Provide occasional front-end support for visual or content updates, ensuring adherence to the College’s brand and style guidelines.Perform other duties as assigned. The Website Manager will be expected to work a flexible schedule which may include day, evening, night and occasional weekend hours.
