A very stable and industry leading company is seeking a staff accountant to join it's team on a perm basis. This is a terrific opportunity to work side by side a Controller and be trained for every function within the accounting department. This is a very collaborative environment. The controller will entrust the staff accountant with more responsibilities as each task is accomplished and learned. Responsibilities Include :
- Work directly with the Controller in preparing all financial statements
- Assist in the month end close
- Monthly reconciliation of general ledger accounts. Report any variances
- Prepare Bank reconciliations
- Prepare journal entries
- Assist Accounts Payable Clerk resolving difficult issues for payment
- Sage a plus
- Strong excel skills required
