Position Overview:
- First level of Quality Control Inspector.
- With readily available supervision, performs repetitive inspection following standardized methods and procedures.
- Visually inspects or checks parts using a variety of precision measuring instruments or against fixed samples.
- Checks dimensions and finishes against blueprint or work order specifications.
- At this level, workers may perform finishing operations to correct rejected parts or assist with other production activities.
- Performs visual inspection to ensure that all products meet the established specifications for workmanship and adherence to print specifications.
- Utilizes gauges, templates, precision measuring instruments and other manufacturing aids to ensure that all products meet the print specifications.
- Able to use Calipers and Micrometers, CMM and other Quality Measuring devices.
- Complete work assigned in the allotted time.
- Work must meet company quality standards.
- Upon completion of assigned work, work area and equipment must meet company 5S standards.
- Report all variances from product / process standards to Manager.
- Blueprint reading.
- Basic math skills (calculator).
- 5S Principles.
- Understanding of Lean / Six Sigma / single piece flow manufacturing process.
- Basic abilities to use measurement devices such as a CMM, optical comparator, and Virtek machines if they have already been setup.
- Must be able to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate office equipment.
- Hearing and speaking to exchange information in person or on the telephone.
- Seeing to inspect documents for accuracy.
- Reaching to retrieve and maintain files.
- Bending, pushing, moving, and lifting objects up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus.
