The position is responsible for material planning, purchasing, scheduling, and supplier relationships for assigned product lines.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan for and process Daily Job Traveler Packages for all centrifuge production activities
- Monitor and review Materials Requirement Planning (MRP) suggestions
- Create Purchase Orders and Job Travelers based on MRP
- Schedule jobs based on material availability and manufacturing resources
- Manage inventory for assigned product lines to ensure inventory is available for customer orders without resulting in excess or obsolete inventory and keeping inventory investment at a minimum
- Manage the relationship with suppliers
- Strive to obtain the lowest total cost for inventory
- Maintain and publish supplier performance scorecards as needed
- Analyze inventory to establish safety stock, planning parameters, and other standards to provide an uninterrupted flow of materials to manufacturing
- Other duties, as assigned

Qualifications:
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Personable, professional phone skills
- Must be well organized, efficient, and a self-starter
- Ability to facilitate meetings and prepare presentations as needed
- Ability to negotiate with suppliers
- Understand current industry and government regulations as they impact the supply chain
- B.S. in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field is preferred
- A.S. in a business-related discipline plus at least two years experience in a purchasing or planning role OR the equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable
- APICS Certified in Production and Inventory Management is a plus
- Alternate education and experience are considered based on individual candidates
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Computer Skills:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, in particular Excel, is required
- Experience with an ERP system is required; experience with Epicor is a plus
- Sitting, 6 hours per workday
- Standing, up to 2 hours per workday
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
