Medical Biller

Our laboratory facility has an immediate need for a full-time, experienced Billing Specialist who is familiar with insurance companies, Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Care plans, Commercial, WC, No Faults. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and willing to work a problem to its successful conclusion. Previous experience in laboratory billing will make this transition much easier.

SKILLS:

 ·         High school diploma/GED required, College degree or Medical Billing certificate preferred

·         Experience with medical billing, preferably in a laboratory environment

·         Excellent customer service skills and phone manner

·         Ability to manage stress in a fast-paced environment

·         Strong knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid and Managed Care plans

 RESPONSIBILITIES:

 ·         Submit and process claims in a timely manner

·         Work with patients to develop self-pay arrangements and payment plans

·         Process and follow up on payer denials

·         Work on appeals process

·         Post payments in a timely manner

·         Strong team player

·         Create and work on Excel spreadsheet reports

·         Complete insurance audits paperwork
