The Production Scheduler is responsible for creating and managing an accurate production schedule for internal and external suppliers that considers shop floor capacity, customer priorities, raw material/components, and data integrity. This position will interface with other departments and staff in order to achieve optimal utilization of the facility to meet customer demands.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain the manufacturing production schedule; monitoring and updating on an ongoing basis to ensure on-time delivery to customers.
  • Scheduling of maintenance activities for the injection molding machines and support equipment.
  • Monitor material inventory levels to ensure that all available resources are in place in order to meet the schedule.
  • Track the progress of production and review factors that may affect schedules; communicate findings to management.
  • Work closely with customer service to ensure on-time delivery and timely correspondence with the customer regarding planned shipments.
  • Advise management of any change in the trends of ordering by the customer to assure quick reaction time.
  • Continually monitor press utilization in to ensure best use of resources.
  • Prepare monthly KPI reports relating to capacity utilization, schedule adherence, and other continuous improvement goals.
  • May be assigned additional tasks and/or special projects by management.

Education and Experience

  • 2-3 years of work experience in manufacturing with an emphasis on scheduling.
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

APICS Certified in Production and Inventory - Management (CPIM) program provides you with the ability to understand and evaluate production and inventory activities within a company's global operations.

  • Ability to solve practical problems that arise on the job utilizing a systematical approach.
  • Possesses self-motivation and performs functional responsibilities with little to no supervision.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills are required.
  • Demonstrates excellent organizational skills including the ability to properly prioritize multiple projects/deadlines.
  • Ability to read and interpret production documents.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups including management.
  • Good math aptitude, planning, and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to review and analyze data generated by ERP and regular manufacturing activities.
  • Proficiency in Contact Management systems (Outlook), Project Management software (Excel or Project), Spreadsheet software (Excel), and Word Processing software (Word).
  • Proficiency in software used for MRP.
  • Knowledge of IQMS strongly preferred.

  • Regularly required to sit for long periods of time (3 hrs.).
  • Frequently required to stand and walk 1-3 hours at times.
  • Ability to frequently lift at least 15 pounds in a safe method.

  • Frequently required to talk and hear others.
  • Standard visual acuity required.

Work Environment

This position operates in a professional office environment with routine use of office equipment such as computers and accessories, printers, copiers, filing cabinets and phones. At times this position will require presence on the manufacturing floor and surrounding areas where noise levels represent standard mild factory environment, falling below OSHA action levels for required hearing conservation programs. PPE available upon request and for any required designated areas, including safety glasses.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
