Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Industrial Automation and Controls Engineer with specific experience in Hesse ultrasonic welding and wire bonding or similar technologies. The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of relevant experience and a passion for driving efficiency and innovation in control software, automation, and manufacturing processes. This role involves designing, implementing, and optimizing automation systems to enhance our battery engineering and manufacturing capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain industrial automation systems to improve efficiency, safety, and quality in our battery manufacturing processes.
- Develop and optimize control strategies and programming for Hesse wire bonding equipment and other similar manufacturing technologies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate automation systems into existing manufacturing processes.
- Conduct thorough testing and validation of automation systems to ensure reliability and performance.
- Provide technical support and training to production staff on automation and control systems.
- Stay up to date with the latest in automation technologies and industry best practices to drive continuous improvement in our operations.
- Manage projects from concept through to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
- Program and adjust robotic arms and cobots as needed on the assembly line.
- Manage updates and changes to automation process data, interactions, and communication.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, automation engineering, or a related field.
- 2-3 years of experience in industrial automation and controls engineering, specifically with experience in Hesse wire bonding operations or similar technologies.
- Strong understanding of control systems, PLC programming, and robotic automation.
- Experience with CAD software for designing and simulating automation systems.
- Proficient in programming and troubleshooting industrial automation equipment.
- Experience with industrial vision systems.
- Experience with ultrasonic welding processes.
- Familiar with adhesive dispensing systems
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to convey complex technical information to non-technical team members.
