The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing key aspects of the company’s financial operations, with a strong focus on SaaS-specific accounting practices such as revenue recognition (ASC 606), deferred revenue, and subscription billing models. This role requires strong technical accounting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Own the month-end and quarter-end close process, ensuring accuracy and completeness within your respective business units and balance sheet accounts.
- Apply ASC 606 revenue recognition principles for subscription-based contracts.
- Reconcile and maintain the general ledger, including prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accruals, and deferred revenue accounts.
- Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements.
- Process weekly AP check run.
- Collaborate with FP&A to provide variance analysis and financial insights.
- Partner with Sales and Customer Success to review contracts and assess revenue treatment.
- Manage subscription billing systems and partner reporting to ensure accuracy including reconciliations and variance analysis.
- Support audits, compliance, and tax filings as needed.
- Continuously improve accounting processes and systems for scale.
- Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA required).
- 4–7 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally with at least 1–2 years in a SaaS or tech company.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and ASC 606.
- Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks Online) and SaaS billing tools.
- Highly proficient in Excel (pivot tables, lookups, formulas).
- Ability to thrive in a fast-moving environment.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
- CPA license required
- Familiarity with SaaS metrics (e.g., ARR, CAC, churn, LTV).
