Basic Job Functions :
Performs mechanical set-ups and maintenance tasks on tanks, pumps, mills, and other equipment used in the manufacture of creams, ointments, lotions, and other liquid products. Performs repairs and rebuilds on various types of equipment used in a liquids manufacturing plant. Requires basic electrical troubleshooting knowledge. Conducts preventative maintenance and participates in training programs as required.
Essential Functions :
Set up full line configurations of multiple pieces of equipment independently.
Supervise subordinate mechanical personnel and assist in troubleshooting and training.
Generate purchase requisitions for materials and parts needed.
Assist management in new project quotation generation by providing input on equipment choices, potential capital purchases or improvements, and estimated output.
Perform basic plumbing repairs and improvements.
Conduct welding and fabrication tasks as needed.
Perform calibrations on mixers, load cells, etc.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements :
Fluency in written and spoken English.
Substantial experience working with manufacturing equipment.
Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to work cooperatively and effectively with co-workers.
Ability to provide clear instructions.
Ability to understand Standard Operating Procedures and communicate their requirements to others.
Ability to troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild various types of equipment.
Complete knowledge of tools and basic machinery operation.
Ability to work around solvents and chemicals needed for sanitization tasks.
Ability to safely work with hot water (180°ree;F).
Ability to perform plumbing repairs and improvements.
Welding and fabrication experience.
Ability to perform calibration and preventative maintenance tasks as needed.
Physical Requirements :
Strength sufficient to lift up to 60 lbs.
Ability to push a 55-gallon drum full of bulk product up to six feet.
Ability to stand on concrete floors for full shift periods.
Ability to hear speech and / or alarms through plant noise.
Possess peripheral vision.
Eyesight, with or without corrective lenses, able to discern different characters of small type.
Must be able to recognize colors and shades of color.
Physical mobility to reach overhead, at shoulder and waist level, and below the waist.
Manual dexterity to unfasten and fasten large and small parts using hand tools.
Must not be allergic to chemicals and solvents used for sanitization.
Ability to work overtime or extended shifts as needed.
Must pass a physical to wear a respirator.
Must be capable of working in a confined space area.

Education and Experience :
Must have a high school diploma or GED. Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment with tanks, pumps, mills, etc., preferred.
