Job Title: Digital Print Shop AssistantJob Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Digital Print Shop Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will support the daily operations of our digital print shop by handling various tasks such as preparing materials, operating printing equipment, using finishing tools (including folding machines, cutters, and laminators), assisting customers, and ensuring the smooth production of high-quality print products. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, technical aptitude, and a passion for delivering excellent customer service.Key Responsibilities:

  • Print Production Support:
  • Operate and maintain digital printing machines, ensuring high-quality output.
  • Set up print jobs by selecting the appropriate media and settings.
  • Monitor the printing process to ensure that print quality meets specifications.
  • Perform routine maintenance on printing equipment.
  • Finishing Equipment Operation:
  • Use finishing equipment such as folding machines, cutters, guillotines, and laminators to prepare print materials according to client specifications.
  • Perform post-print tasks including trimming, folding, binding, and laminating.
  • Ensure precision and quality in all finishing steps, making sure products are cut and folded correctly.
  • Order Preparation:
  • Review job orders and prepare materials for printing (cutting, trimming, laminating).
  • Assist in preparing files for print by checking for proper formatting, resolution, and color accuracy.
  • Ensure that printed materials are completed on time and meet client specifications.
  • Customer Service:
  • Provide assistance to customers with print job inquiries and specifications.
  • Help clients with design advice or troubleshoot technical issues with print materials.
  • Maintain positive relationships with customers, offering advice on suitable printing options.
  • Inventory Management:
  • Monitor and manage stock levels of paper, ink, and other print supplies.
  • Keep accurate records of materials used and reorder supplies when necessary.
  • Ensure the print shop remains well-organized and stocked.
  • Quality Control:
  • Inspect finished printed products for quality and consistency before delivery or packaging.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with print jobs such as color discrepancies, misprints, and paper jams.
  • Ensure that products are finished to the highest standard of accuracy and quality.
  • Administrative Support:
  • Assist in maintaining accurate records of print jobs and customer orders.
  • Update job logs and track the status of ongoing projects.
  • Perform clerical tasks, such as filing and managing customer databases.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certifications in digital printing is a plus.
  • Experience in a print shop or similar setting is preferred but not required.
  • Familiarity with digital printing equipment and software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, RIP software).
  • Experience operating finishing equipment such as folding machines, cutters, and laminators is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with customers and team members.
  • Ability to lift and handle heavy materials (up to 50 lbs).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues.

Working Conditions:

  • Full-time position, with potential overtime during peak periods.
  • May require standing for extended periods and working in a production environment.
  • Safety protocols and training will be provided for operating machinery and handling materials.

Salary:
