Requirements
The Mechanical Designer is responsible for leading plumbing and HVAC design coordination, CAD, and drafting. Improve upon Accurate’ s existing processes to meet needs of mechanical projects.
Lead the HVAC and plumbing design for all design build projects.
- Projects to consist of residential, commercial, industrial, and retail applications.
- Work closely with engineers and project managers to meet clients schedules.
- Installation drawings for HVAC, Plumbing, Sheetmetal, and Controls.
- As-built drawing updates for closeout documents.
- Coordination/CAD/technology standards management and implementation.
- Assist with Fabrication and Prefabrication and Process development and Implementation.
- Assist Estimator, Project Manager, Field Installation Manager and Foreman to develop scope and duration of coordination/prefabrication pre and post bid.
- Assist Team by continuously looking for opportunities to gain efficiencies in both utilization of technology and best practices.
- Assist Estimating and Project Managers with creation of CAD Model Based Reports that will aid in the Management of Labor and Material cost, Material Procurement, and productivity tracking.
- Perform site surveys as needed to document current or existing site conditions that would impact the coordination, design, or fabrication Process
- Perform heating/cooling load calculations with Carrier Block Load and Wrightsoft.
- Layout HVAC and plumbing systems and basic designs.
- Work with BIM Coordinator to improve on CAD processes and templates.
- Ability to learn new processes, procedures, and software.
- Pace at which tasks are completed and completion of tasks correctly the first time.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Revit, BlockLoad, AutoCAD and other programs as needed.
- Ability to think on your own, keep yourself busy, minimize distractions.
- Contributions to the growth of the Commercial Departments CAD capabilities.
- Teamwork, attitude, and efforts.
- Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Efficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Efficient with AutoCAD and Revit (preferred).
- Experience in mechanical trades preferred.
- HVAC and plumbing design experience preferred.
- Capable of attending and engaging in meetings with clients, owners, contractors, etc. in a positive and productive manner.
- Possess a good work ethic and be efficient in job duties.
- Willing to work extra hours above 40 hours a week when necessary to meet project deadlines and client demands.
- Associates in Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or minimum of 5 years of related experience.
