Job Title: Cybersecurity Analyst
Location: Remote
Pay: $80,000 - $90,000 per year ( 15% yearly bonus)
Job Summary
We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Cybersecurity Analyst to work alongside the IT support team to maintain the security and integrity of all digital platforms. Reporting directly to the Director of IT, the Cybersecurity Analyst will be responsible for establishing, executing, and maintaining all cybersecurity policies, procedures, processes, and documentation. This role requires in-depth knowledge of cybersecurity and compliance. The ideal candidate excels in both collaborative, large-scale projects and individual task execution.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute routine testing and auditing of systems and networks.
- Assist in the configuration and implementation of monitoring tools and software.
- Continuously monitor network traffic for suspicious activity and cyberattacks.
- Perform ethical hacking to simulate real-world cyberattacks, identify vulnerabilities, and provide remediation advice as needed.
- Research and analyze new threats to assess risks and plan for mitigation.
- Provide security status reports and risk assessments, and communicate findings to management.
- Maintain up-to-date, detailed documentation of IT policies, procedures, and processes.
- Develop and conduct user training exercises to minimize risks associated with human error.
- Perform additional duties as needed based on business requirements.
Desired Qualifications:
- Knowledge of various network protocols, operating systems, and cybersecurity concepts.
- Strong understanding of IT security frameworks, standards, and guidelines, including NIST and CMMC.
- Experience with vulnerability scanning and penetration testing.
- Proficiency with network security tools such as firewalls and endpoint security to identify, isolate, and mitigate threats.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to self-learn.
- Flexibility to work occasional evening and weekend hours.
- Professional certifications such as CISSP, CCP, OSCP, or CEH are preferred.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
- Ability to travel as required, including daily and occasional overnight travel (up to 15%).
- Work may be performed in home, office, or customer settings.
- Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods and lift up to 15 lbs.
- Requires use of a computer, copier, fax, phone, and other standard office equipment.
