POSITION OVERVIEW
As a Concrete Finisher, you will be responsible for finishing surfaces of poured concrete, ensuring smoothness, and creating visually appealing results for a variety of construction projects. Your work will involve the precise use of tools, equipment, and techniques to finish floors, sidewalks, driveways, roads, and other concrete structures to the highest standards.

Accurate Site Development provides full-service pre-construction Civil work, including earthmoving and underground utilities. We also have in house Concrete, Electrical and Plumbing services for new construction or renovation projects throughout Virginia.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Surface Preparation: Prepare concrete surfaces by ensuring proper leveling, smoothing, and shaping using hand tools or power tools
- Finishing Concrete: Apply finishing techniques including troweling, edging, and brushing to create desired textures on fresh concrete
- Mixing Concrete: Occasionally assist with the mixing of concrete and other materials, ensuring proper consistency and application
- Equipment Operation: Operate various finishing tools like power trowels, hand floats, and concrete vibrators to ensure high-quality results
- Inspection: Inspect the concrete work for any imperfections or defects and correct them as needed before the concrete sets
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE) to ensure a safe working environment
- Collaboration: Work closely with other construction workers, contractors, and supervisors to ensure the timely and accurate completion of tasks
- Maintenance of Tools and Equipment: Clean and maintain all tools and equipment used on the job site
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT
- Proven experience as a Concrete Finisher or in a similar role. [X] years of experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of concrete finishing techniques, ability to operate finishing tools and equipment, understanding of concrete mix ratios
- Ability to interpret blueprints and project plans to understand specific finishing requirements.
- Proficient in using hand and power tools specific to the concrete finishing trade
- Strong understanding of concrete materials, mix designs, and curing processes
- High attention to detail and quality control to ensure smooth and even finishes
- Ability to work well within a team environment, as well as independently when needed
- OSHA 10 Certification, required
- Concrete Finisher Certification, ACI Cert, preferred
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Work will be performed primarily on construction sites, which are physically demanding environments; primarily outdoors, in various weather conditions, including extremes of heat and cold, rain or snow
- Exposure to outdoor elements, loud noises, dust, dirt, and potentially hazardous materials
- Proper safety equipment and PPE must be worn at all times to ensure personal safety on the construction site
- Requires work near moving mechanical parts and operation of power tools and machinery with proper safety precautions
- Ability to work at heights or in confined spaces
- May need to work evenings, weekends, overnight or overtime to meet project deadlines or address emergencies
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Strong physical stamina and the ability to perform demanding physical tasks
- Repetitive use of upper extremities and neck
- Repetitive use of lower extremities and feet
- Ability to walk and safely navigate uneven surfaces and various terrains on job sites
- Required to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time
- Ability to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch and climb
- Ability to climb ladders, scaffolding, or elevated platforms
- Ability to properly wear safety equipment and PPE and adhere to all safety protocols on the construction site, at all times
- Ability to talk and hear, in person, by telephone and in loud environments
- Ability to see clearly (with or without correction) close, distance, peripheral, depth, and the ability to focus
- Ability to use various hand tools, power tools, and equipment
